What are Official Rules?
Official rules are the terms and conditions clearly communicated to your entrants and agreed to as a condition for entering the giveaway. A good set of official rules protect your brand from liability and educated entrants about the limitations to and guidelines for entering to win. By entering the sweepstakes, your entrants are agreeing to these rules.
Where do entrants view the Official Rules?
Entrants and Partners will a link to the Official Rules on the landing page next to the Enter button. Clicking the link opens the Rules in a new window. You can elect to have the agreement box pre-checked, or require entrants to check that they agree with the rules before clicking Enter.
How do I create Official Rules?
There are two ways to create Official Rules on DojoMojo.
- Use your own Official Rules
- Use DojoMojo’s Official Rules Generator. DojoMojo’s Official Rules Generator can use existing campaign info to generate rules viewable by all entrants.
- Note that if you choose to use DojoMojo's drafted terms, Innovation Brands Corp and DojoMojo can't be held liable for any issues or disputes that may arise as a result.
This article will cover how to use DojoMojo's Official Rules Generator.
1. Select DojoMojo Template Option
Open the Campaign Manager for the campaign you'd like to add Rules to.
Navigate to My Partnerships > Campaigns > Current > Click the tile of the campaign you want to add rules for > click Campaign Builder > Customize > Rules > Get Started > Select the checkbox next to Use DojoMojo's Template
2. Enter Brand Info
We’ll use existing campaign info to draft the legal language but will need you to provide a few additional inputs.
For each Partner participating in the campaign, you will need their:
- legal entity name
- link to the site where their privacy policy can be found (the best way to find this out is either to ask the brand for this link or to find their webpage -either by Google or their brand profile- and take their privacy policy link from here).
If you’re still confirming your Partners and collecting this information or you can come back and edit this later.
Enter the details requested for each brand and click Generate Rules.
3. Review Draft Rules
Review the preview of the document, reading carefully to make sure you don't need to make any edits. As you add Partners, Social Growth actions, or change dates, the Rules will update automatically.
4. Edit (Optional)
To make changes, use the Edit panel and click Publish.
Publish means that the rules are now visible to your Partners from the link next to the Enter button on your landing page. If you Edit after Publishing them, this button will say Update.
If you'd prefer not to have your terms be visible to Partners from this link yet, you can click Save Draft. Publish does not mean your Rules are sent to anyone.
Note that if you make changes to the items in {{brackets}}, DojoMojo will not be able to automatically update these for you in the future as you edit your campaign. These are automatically pulled from our system and editing breaks the logic.
5. Publish
Your Rules will need to be Published before you can launch your campaign and begin accepting entries. Publishing will make the rules visible to Partners and Entrants who click on the link in the landing page.
Sharing Official Rules with Partners for Review
Once your document is Published, potential and confirmed Partners can review them in the Preview page by clicking the link next to the Enter button in the Opt-in Language.
After Rules are Published, click Terms and Conditions to view them in a separate window from the Preview page.
Editing and Updating your Terms
Provided you do not edit these fields {in brackets}, your Rules will edit the below automatically as you update your campaign:
- Start and End Dates
- Social Actions
Things you’ll need to edit as they change:
- As you add Partners, they will show up in the Enter Info tab but you’ll need to add their legal name, Privacy Policy and legal address. We’ll remind you of this via email when you add a Partner.
You can return to the Official Rules home screen at any point to view the status of your agreement.
