Use Embeds to collect data from shoppers directly on your store's website. Embed forms are an easy-to-maintain and highly impactful way to convert casual site visitors into engaged email and SMS subscribers.
Unlike Pop-Ups, embedded forms are non-intrusive and baked right into the content of your site. All forms are fully customizable with templates pre-built to maximize your list growth and compliance.
You'll be able to customize the form's branding, data fields, and your welcome text message triggered by form submissions.
In this article, we’ll review:
- Creating an embed
- Customizing the form
- Setting the embed behavior and triggers
- Styling your embed
- Create a SMS welcome series
Build an Embed Form
To create a new Embed,
- Navigate to Acquisition Tools in the SMS Marketing suite.
- Choose Signup Forms and select Create New.
- Choose Embed.
Add and Edit Form Steps
You can customize pretty much everything about the form, but let's start with the basics.
Copy & Content Blocks
Update the text displayed on the form directly in the WYSIWYG editor on the right. The form's copy is composed of a Title and Subtitle block. You can edit the visibility of these blocks by selecting Content Blocks within the Form Step.
Fields
You’ll see the mobile phone and email fields added to your form by default.
NOTE: We'll automatically add SMS consent language to the form when the mobile phone field is added.
To add more fields to your embed:
- Select Add Field at the bottom of the Content tab to search for existing standard fields or create a new custom field.
- Once a field has been selected, drag and drop it into one of the form steps in the section above. The form preview will update on the right.
You can edit a field’s options, including:
- Field name: The name of the field that will appear internally in your reporting.
- Display name: The placeholder text that appears on the live form.
- Make this field required: When the checkbox is selected, the field will be required for submission.
- [Optional] Value: When an ESP is connected, you can migrate data collected by your form to your ESP. Make sure the value inputted for each form field matches the values used in your ESP settings.
Form Steps
Embeds are single-step forms by default and contain a Thank You step that confirms submission. If you'd like to split up your form into multiple pages to collect more data, additional steps may be added.
Design and Styling
Customize the look and feel of your embed in the Theme tab. Update the colors, add your company logo, and pick the button styles that match your brand aesthetic.
Craft your SMS Welcome Series
In the Message section, create and manage the automated text message series that new subscribers will receive upon opting-in to SMS and submitting the form.
NOTE: A text message welcome series is required for forms that collect SMS consent. The embed cannot be published or displayed on your site without an SMS welcome series.
To get started, select Create Series to open the message editor.
Craft the text messages that you want to send to new SMS subscribers. Send a warm welcome and keep it concise. If you mentioned a special offer or discount in your form, remember to include a coupon code or instructions on how to redeem your promotion in the text message.
[Optional] Set up an Email Welcome Series in your ESP
With an ESP integration, you can migrate the email contacts collected from your embed form to a list in your ESP. From there, enroll subscribers in your email welcome flow.
ESP Integration
Connect your Email Service Provider to migrate new contacts and data collected by the form. Choose the list within your ESP that new subscribers should be added to.
Tip: If you have an Email Welcome Series, make sure it's set to trigger when new contacts are added to the specific list tied to your embed form.
Field Values
Each form field within your Embed has a "value". That's just technical lingo for how DojoMojo communicates with your ESP. To help ensure all the data flows accurately into your ESP, match the form field values to the corresponding values in your ESP.
For example, if first name is classified as "F_NAME" in your ESP, paste that exactly as it is into the value of the first name form field in DojoMojo. When everything matches, you'll see a green "Connected" status.
Publish and Install the Form on Your Website
Save & Publish your form to make it available to install on your website. View our installation instructions on how to make the Embed visible on your site.
